Deck building and deck replacement in Snohomish County, WA
Our wet winters are hard on decks. We build new decks and replace old, worn-out ones throughout Snohomish County, using composite decking or cedar depending on your budget and how much upkeep you want. We'll check the framing and posts on your existing deck and tell you honestly whether it can be resurfaced or needs a full rebuild. Railings, stairs and covered areas are all on the table.
What we build
- New decks
- Full rebuilds of worn-out decks
- New boards and railings when the framing is still sound
- Composite or cedar decking
- Railings, stairs and covered areas
Repair or rebuild?
Before we quote, we check the framing and posts on your existing deck. Sometimes they're solid and only the boards and railing need replacing. Often, older decks have rotted joists or posts, or don't meet today's code, and a rebuild is the safer choice. Either way, we'll tell you straight which one makes sense.

Common questions
Should I build a composite or wood deck in the Pacific Northwest?
It comes down to budget and upkeep. Wood like cedar costs less up front but needs regular cleaning and staining to hold up to our wet winters. Composite costs more at the start but won't rot, splinter or need staining, which is why most of our Snohomish County clients go that route.
Can you replace my old deck, or does it need to be torn down?
It depends on what's underneath. Sometimes the framing is solid and only the boards and railing need replacing. Often, though, older decks have rotted joists or posts, or don't meet today's code. We'll inspect it and tell you straight which option makes sense.
Do I need a permit for my remodel?
If you're moving walls, adding or changing plumbing or electrical, building an addition, or putting on most decks, yes. Swapping cabinets or countertops in the same spot usually doesn't need one. Each city, and Snohomish County for unincorporated areas, has its own rules, so we check before we quote.
Can you build or remodel during the rainy season?
Yes. Interior work like kitchens and bathrooms goes on all year. For decks, additions and new construction, we plan around Pacific Northwest weather, protect the work from rain, and schedule the most weather-sensitive steps for drier stretches. Many homeowners book exterior projects in winter so they're ready for summer.
