Remodeling and home building in Everett in Snohomish County, WA

Everett is the biggest city in our service area and has some of its oldest homes. TimberCrest Homes remodels and builds across Everett, from the early-1900s houses of north Everett to the newer neighborhoods of south Everett, and we're just up the road in Snohomish.

Everett homes

North Everett neighborhoods like Riverside, Bayside, Northwest and Port Gardner are full of homes from the early 1900s, with original woodwork, tall ceilings and the plumbing, wiring and foundations of their era. South Everett, around Silver Lake, has more split-levels and two-story homes from the 1970s onward. The two call for different approaches: careful whole-home renovation in the older neighborhoods, and layout and finish updates in the newer ones.

What these homes often need

  • Whole-home renovations of early-1900s houses, including electrical, plumbing and insulation
  • Kitchen remodels that keep an older home's character
  • Basement and attic conversions into bedrooms, offices or ADUs
  • Deck and porch rebuilds

Permits in Everett

The City of Everett issues its own building permits, and some older neighborhoods have historic overlay rules where exterior changes can need design review. Older homes can also contain lead paint or asbestos, which have to be tested for and handled properly before demolition. We build both into the plan, and we pull the permits and schedule the inspections ourselves.

Everett questions

Can you renovate an older north Everett home?

Yes. We start with what's behind the walls (wiring, plumbing, insulation and framing), then rebuild the kitchens, baths and living spaces in a way that suits the house. We'll tell you plainly what's worth keeping and what's due for replacement.

Can I turn my Everett basement or attic into an ADU or living space?

Often, if there's enough ceiling height, a safe way out (egress) and a practical route for plumbing. Conversions usually cost less than building new. We measure and check the code requirements on the first visit and give you a written estimate.
