Snohomish's hometown general contractor in Snohomish County, WA
Snohomish is home for TimberCrest. We're based here, both owners grew up in Snohomish County, and this is where many of our neighbors live. We build custom homes and ADUs and remodel kitchens, bathrooms and whole houses in town, on the plateau and out in the valley.
Snohomish homes
Snohomish has three very different kinds of property. The historic town has Victorian and early-1900s homes on small lots near First Street. The plateau above it, out toward Three Lakes, Cathcart and Machias, has newer subdivisions and acreage. And the Snohomish and Pilchuck river valleys hold farmhouses and rural homes, much of it in the floodplain. Each one calls for a different plan.
What we build and remodel here
- Custom homes and new construction on acreage
- ADUs and in-law units on larger lots
- Restoring and updating historic homes in town
- Kitchen, bath and whole-home remodels
- Decks and covered outdoor living
Permits around Snohomish
Inside city limits, permits come from the City of Snohomish, and homes in the historic district have design standards for exterior changes. Most of the surrounding area is unincorporated Snohomish County, where permits come from the county's Planning and Development Services, and rural lots often add septic, well and floodplain requirements. We sort out which apply to your property before we price anything.

Snohomish questions
Do you build custom homes on rural land around Snohomish?
Yes. Rural lots usually need a septic design, a water source (a well or a water district connection), a driveway and site work in addition to the house, and some are in the floodplain. We help you understand the full scope and cost, not just the house's price per square foot. In 2026 our custom homes run about $300 to $450 per square foot, not including land.
